Care of the new greens
The Club is very proud of the new greens and in order to protect them as much as possible, all golfers are asked to follow the good practices below:
- To
prevent damage to the greens, the Club recommends the use of “soft
spikes”
- Please repair your pitch marks and any others that you may see on the green
- Try to avoid scuffing the surface but if you do happen to do so, please repair any marks that you may have made – ON COMPLETION OF THE HOLE BY ALL PLAYERS IN THE GROUP
- Do not lean on your club when on the green – particularly when removing your ball from the hole
- To avoid damaging the hole, please do not stand too close to the hole
- Take care when removing or replacing the flagstick and put it down carefully without dropping it
Order of priority at Buckingham Golf Club
1. Club Matches
2. Club Knock Out Matches
3. Club Competitions
Golfers playing in official Club competitions have priority over casual golfers at all times. Only in exceptional circumstances (and with the agreement of the Professional or Secretary/Manager) may Two-ball matches play in competitions. In this case, Two-ball matches do not have priority – this is determined by pace of play.
Pace
of Play and Etiquette
- Please
avoid slow play at all times
- Be ready to play when it's your turn
- Carefully watch shots that are off line
- Leave your bags in a position that will enable quick movement to the next tee
- Leave the green quickly when the hole is completed
- Be conscious of your pace of play and try to keep up with the match in front, not in front of
the match behind.
- When searching for a lost ball, signal the match behind to pass
as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not be easily
found. Do not search for five minutes before doing so.
- If
a match fails to keep its place on the course
and loses more than one clear hole on the players in front,
it should allow the match following to pass.
- Any
match playing a whole round is entitled to pass a match playing
a shorter round.
- Official
club knockout competitions have priority over all matches.
- Please
repair pitch marks.
- Please
replace divots.
- Please
rake bunkers after use.
Mobile
Phones
- Use of Mobile phones is not permitted on the course or in the clubhouse.
Security
- Buckingham Golf Club will not be responsible for any items left unattended in the car park, changing rooms or outside the Professional shop.
- The club accepts no liability for any injury, loss or damage to persons or their property whilst on the golf course, clubhouse or other areas of grounds.
- We recommend all participants to have adequate personal golf insurance cover in respect of such matters.
