World Handicap System - WHS

WHS - Calculating your Playing Handicap

The following steps are to be followed when playing with your new handicap from the 2nd November:
You must first know your Handicap Index. This can be checked on the England-Golf/Howdidido/ClubV1 App or with the Pro in the shop.

1. HANDICAP INDEX
This is calculated from your 8 best scores from the last 20, it will be updated on an ongoing basis as a player submits qualifying scores (it is the players responsibility to know their Handicap Index)

2. COURSE HANDICAP
Use your Handicap Index against the tees you will be playing from on the course (see the Course Handicap Table located outside the Office, as well as the BGC Web-site)

3. COMPETITION HANDICAP / HANDICAP ALLOWANCE
Using your Course Handicap adjust your handicap depending on the type of competition you are entering (see WHS Handicap Allowance). Note: if playing strokeplay this is calculated automatically by the system when entering your score

4. RETURNING YOUR SCORE
You submit your gross score into the ClubV1 App or, when available, into the screen in the Rolph Bar

5. NEW HANDICAP INDEX
At midnight your Handicap will be re-calculated taking account of your score & playing conditions. Your new HANDICAP INDEX will be made available to view by England Golf.
